The World Trade Review (www.worldtradereview.com) is the only newspaper which exclusively provides coverage to the news relating to WTO matters. A brief description about the categories covered in the paper is given below.

In this category, the headings of all news items and articles published in that particular issue of The World Trade Review are listed in alphabetical order. Click any heading to view the full story. Accession to WTO

This category contains news, views and reports on the developments and events relating to the accession requests made by candidates of WTO membership.

Agriculture

This category contains news about agriculture viz a viz WTO Agreement on Agriculture (AoA) and occasionally include allied matters such as SPS, TRIPS and environment.

Anti dumping / Safeguards

In this category, one may find news about anti dumping, subsidies, countervailing duties and safeguard measures.

Commodities

This category contains those news items, which deal with any specific goods, commodities or items. The headings in this category generally contain the name of such commodity. This category is aimed at providing convenience to the readers who are interested in any particular commodity.

Development

In this category one would find events, news and reports about sustainable development.

Dispute Settlement

This category contains news, views, proceedings and reports about disputes between WTO member countries. Whether or not these disputes have gone to WTO or being discussed/negotiated outside WTO.

Words And Phrases

There are peculiar words, phrases and terms used in international trade and particularly WTO agreements. The readers are supposed to know the meaning, explanations and definitions of such words, phrases and terms so as to understand WTO, its agreements and other relevant reading material. Under this series, the meanings, explanations and definitions of such words, phrases and terms are given. These do not reflect the official views of any organization. These are compilations by eminent experts.

To the Point

The World Trade Review has started this series to highlight issues and trends directly affecting Pakistan. The contents of this series, however, are equally useful and relevant to all developing and least developed countries. The idea is to create awareness and generate timely reaction in stakeholders of these countries, so as to take advantage or remedy an emerging situation.

Textiles & Clothing

In this category those news items are placed which related to Agreement on Textile and Clothing (ATC), Multi Fiber Agreement (MFA), Generalized System of Preferences (GSP), subsidies, quotas etc.

Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPs)

As the title suggests, this category contains news items about Trade Related Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPs) and covers patents, copyright, trademarks and allied matters.

Investment Measures (TRIMs)

This heading covers news items about investment

Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT)

This category related to news items on trade barriers and technical barriers to trade and occasionally contains news items on tariffs, import restrictions etc.

WTO Meetings

In this category, WTO tentative schedule of meetings is given which is taken from WTO website.

Current Issue

Current issue is current for the period indicated at the top i.e. either 1-15 or 16-30 of the month. Current issue would automatically become back issue once subsequent issue is put on line.

Although The World Trade Review is exclusively dealing with news relating to WTO, in this category, however, those news items are listed which are Geneva based WTO specific, WTO officials statements, WTO reports and events etc.

The World Trade Review occasionally interviews prominent personalities. Some of these interviews are Pakistan specific.
